Presentations are a vital way of communicating in the modern workplace, both for your clients,
and for yourself. But all too many presentations are terrible to sit through, hard to prepare
and nerve wracking to deliver. James Caplin believes that’s because most of us approach them in an unhelpful way.
Discover a new method for creating presentations that will liberate you – and your clients too.
You will leave the workshop with an understanding of GOER®, a new, simple, four
stage process that transforms the way you approach presentations.

A Little About James Caplin
James
is a Professional Certified ICF Coach. He supports his clients
to connect powerfully with others, the
world and – most especially – themselves. He uses teleclasses and workshops to focus on
listening, presenting, negotiating and influencing skills and works across cultures – in
other words, anything to do with communicating and
influencing.
Before
becoming a coach, his main work was writing corporate videos – the PowerPoint
presentations of their day. He was employed by businesses across industry,
government and the third sector, often to convey complex or unpalatable messages
to their audiences. His two decades of freelance writing taught him about
audiences, the workplace, and how to prepare a communication so that it captured
an audience’s interest and delivered value to them, while also delivering a
message from the person commissioning the piece. He believes that it is partly
this balancing act that makes producing presentations such a nightmare for those
without long training in the field. During this time he also wrote gardening
books with his brother, a professional horticulturalist (one of which was a
best-seller) and articles for, amongst others, The Times on Saturday magazine. His degree
is in English Literature which he studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. His
latest book, I Hate Presentations was published in April 2008 by
Capstone.
